THE SHOW IS OVER BUT WHAT A FEELING.
THE PUPILS WERE INCREDIBLE GIVING THE AUDIENCES A SHOW THEY WILL NEVER FORGET.
FROM THE INCREDIBLE DANCE ROUTINES TO THE 12 PIECE PUPIL BAND TO THE GENUINE AND HEARTFELT ACTING TO THE MULTI- HARMONY SINGING, TO THE WEST END STYLE GRAPHICS, THIS WAS A PRODUCTION THAT WENT WAY PAST OUR WILDEST DREAMS AND EXPECTATIONS.
EVERY NIGHT THE AUDIENCE WAS ON ITS FEET, ARMS IN THE AIR, CLAPPING AND SINGING THEIR HEARTS OUT TO THESE CLASSIC SONGS .
THE CAST, WHOSE AGES RAnGED FROM 11-16 PERFORMED LIKE PROFESSIONALS AND ONE HEAD OF FACULTY FROM AONTHER SCHOOL DECLARED, “Most schools can produce shows but I have never seen anything like this. This was total magic and the direction and standard that all schools should follow. Ladymead is the no. 1 place for top quality productions in Taunton having seen this”.
Not a bad quote from a very well to do educational establishment.
We are very proud of all who took part and our school is buzzing for the announcement of the next production.

The Arts should be an intricate part of any education.
The Visual and Performing Arts faculty has experienced a massive transformation in recent years and it is now at the forefront of school life.
Each subject has undergone successful changes in leadership and philosophy, which has enabled the disciplines to blossom. Recently, Drama and Music’s popularity has exploded and Art has maintained its extremely high status.
The most important resource a department can have is the teacher, and the Art, Drama and Music departments here at Laydmead are very lucky to have a great team of teachers with lots of experiences across a wide range of areas.
The faculty has also been provided with funding for appropriate resources and facilities. Due to this, we are now able to offer Dance in our purpose built, mirrored studio and music tech/ graphic design in our fully equipped Imac suite. We also have a multi track digital recording studio, a radio station, a second music tech suite comprising of 20 computers using Cubase software, two large Art studios and two excellent Drama spaces.
Many of our pupils are passionate about the Arts and participate in lots of different ways. These include extra- curricular clubs, assemblies, productions, external classes, KS4 courses and free play. UNDOUBTEDLY, THERE IS A BUZZ AROUND PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS AT LADYMEAD, WHICH HAS BEEN INGRAINED INTO THE WHOLE SCHOOL ETHOS.
